How many things can a table be and still remain authentically “table”?
A fashion designer and frequent hostess commissioned us to design a single surface for nightly family dinners, parties of 20 and occasionally a cat walk.
Having recently moved into a house renovated by Work AC, the table was to fit into a longer series of tables rising from the floor and falling from the ceiling, literally. Among such unique company, we sought to design a table that was assertive, but demure. Settling on a herringbone pattern instigated by the client’s fall line, the thinness of the edge became the focus of attention and effort.
